Photoshoot Guidance under Covid

21/08/2020
Important

This guidance has been put produced to maintain the health and safety of our members, while balancing that with current government advice and ensuring that members can continue to pursue their love of photography as a club.

The aim of these notes is to provide guidance to those wishing to hold photo shoots under the umbrella of Horndean Camera Club (HCC).

Overview

Coronavirus has impacted the activities of the vast majority of camera clubs, with meetings and competitions having to be held via Zoom. It has also impacted the ability to hold photo shoots.

However, with the gradual easing of lockdown, there is the opportunity to hold photo shoots, albeit keeping to government guidelines regarding COVID-19 in mind. However, Club meetings will have to continue via Zoom for the foreseeable future. This is under constant review by the committee.

COVID-19

Given that HCC is part of a national organisation with processes and procedures to follow, we are allowed groups of up to 30 as long as we adhere to the recommended guidelines.

Although generally photo shoots do not reach that number, it is better than being limited to 6 attendees.

Coronavirus Symptoms

Members are asked not to attend any HCC organised photo shoot if they have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19.

A reminder of the symptoms is listed below:

? a high temperature
? a new, continuous cough
? a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

A temperature check should be taken on arrival at any photo shoot.

Travel to Photo Shoots

If travelling to a shoot via public transport, a member should follow the current government advice.

If travelling by car, attendees from different households should not share a vehicle unless absolutely necessary.

Where car sharing is used, members should follow the current government advice.

Track and Trace

Should a member develop symptoms of COVID-19 following the photoshoot, it is important that the groups are able to perform Track and Trace.

With this in mind, a member should be nominated to note the names and phone numbers of all attendees. This will usually be the organiser of the photoshoot.

Handwashing; Hygiene and Refreshments

All members will be required to take their own hand sanitiser and carry a mask if required.

It is also important that members do not share camera equipment or refreshments.

Social Distancing

Photo shoots should be held outside wherever possible and the 2m distance rule should be respected at all times.

If a distance of less than 2m from another member is unavoidable then please keep this to less than 15 minutes to avoid “track and trace” and avoid face-to-face contact at less than 2m.
